Mercury Morris, born Eugene Edward Morris on January 5, 1947, is a former American football player who played as a running back in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins and San Diego Chargers. Morris was known for his speed and agility on the field, earning him the nickname "Mercury."

Morris played college football at West Texas State University before being drafted by the Dolphins in the third round of the 1969 NFL Draft. He played for the team from 1969 to 1975, during which time he was a key player in their historic undefeated season in 1972.

Morris was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and won two Super Bowls with the Dolphins. He was part of a running back duo known as "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" along with teammate Jim Kiick.
